After attending high school for a period of time, Ergün completed his secondary education through the open education system. He later studied at the Faculty of Business Administration at Anadolu University. Alongside his formal education, he continued his work independently in the fields of visual arts and design, gaining practical experience particularly in graphic design, photography, advertising, visual communication, and various production techniques. His personal experiences related to difficulties with attention and focus have also influenced the way his approach to work and creative production developed over time. This process played a role in shaping Ergün's approach to working independently, managing his own creative processes, and bringing together different disciplines. Throughout his approximately 25-year professional career, Ergün has worked in the advertising and graphic design industry. During his career, he has designed more than 500 printed communication materials and developed corporate identity projects for more than 20 organizations. His areas of work include logo and corporate identity design, printed communication materials, magazine and newspaper advertisements, outdoor advertising, websites, and various visual communication projects. In his work within the advertising industry, he has personally been involved in different stages of the design process, including concept development, visual design, implementation, and production. He has contributed to hundreds of outdoor advertising projects, magazine advertisements, and other printed advertising materials. Alongside his work in graphic design, Ergün has been involved in photography for many years. His photographic work encompasses a variety of subjects, including nature, landscapes, wildlife, architecture, industrial environments, and aerial photography. He approaches photography not only as a means of documentation, but also as a form of visual expression through which he explores the relationships between visual composition, light, color, form, and space. His interest in visual arts also includes painting and drawing. His traditional artistic practices include watercolor, oil painting, charcoal, and colored pencil. In particular, he uses colored pencil in his work focused on realistic and hyperrealistic visual representation, with an emphasis on rendering light, shadow, surface texture, volume, and color transitions as realistically as possible. Ergün's visual production also extends into the field of digital art. He works with 2D digital drawing and animation techniques, creating visual compositions, objects and characters, as well as motion graphics applications in digital environments. He explores traditional drawing techniques alongside digital production methods and conducts experimental work on ways in which different techniques can complement one another. Ergün also creates personal and hobby-oriented work in the field of video. His interests in this area include video editing, color correction, color grading, sound design, and audiovisual post-production processes. In his video work, he considers the relationship between image and sound together with elements such as color, atmosphere, rhythm, and visual storytelling. In addition to his graphic design work, Ergün has also been interested in industrial product design. He has pursued this area primarily at an amateur and experimental level, exploring the relationships between form, function, materials, and production processes. Ergün is also interested in 3D modeling, plastic manufacturing, injection molding, prototyping, printing techniques, and various production technologies. His work in these areas focuses on transforming designs created in digital environments into physical products and exploring the relationship between design and production. Ergün's interests also include packaging design and the visual treatment of product surfaces. In packaging design, he considers the relationships between graphic identity, product form, materials, color, and surface, and is also interested in product painting and surface applications. A part of Ergün's professional work also extends into the design of museums and exhibition spaces. In 2023, he was involved in both curatorial work and interior design during the establishment and implementation of a museum project. Within the project, he worked on the organization of exhibition areas, spatial design, visual communication elements, and the placement and presentation of artworks within the space. Ergün also initiated efforts to bring works by various artists whose practices he had followed for many years into the museum and contributed to the inclusion of these works in the project. The museum project was one of his interdisciplinary projects that brought together graphic design, visual arts, spatial design, curatorial approaches, and relationships with artists within a single project. In addition to his professional work, Ergün has maintained long-standing personal interests in a wide range of fields. These interests encompass nature, technology, mechanical systems, the underwater world, music, and outdoor activities. He is interested in scuba diving and follows the underwater world both as a sporting activity and as an area of observation and exploration. He also researches marine and freshwater aquariums and aquatic life, with an interest in the living conditions, behaviors, and natural environments of different aquatic species. His interests related to nature also include camping, trekking, and hunting. Outdoor activities and time spent in nature are among the sources of inspiration for his photographic work. Ergün is also interested in motorcycle culture and mechanical systems. His interest in mechanical structures, movement, and physical systems runs parallel to his curiosity about industrial design and production technologies. One of Ergün's interests is analog music systems and high-fidelity audio systems (Hi-Fi). He researches analog audio technologies, the mechanical and electronic structures of music systems, different sound reproduction technologies, and high-quality music listening experiences. In music, he is particularly interested in jazz and the traditional melodies of Turkish music. The relationships between different musical cultures and sound aesthetics form another part of his personal interests. Ergün's work brings together a wide range of fields, including graphic design, photography, painting, illustration, video, animation, sound, 3D modeling, product design, physical production, and spatial design. In his visual production processes, he considers traditional artistic techniques together with digital technologies, exploring how visual ideas can be expressed not only on two-dimensional surfaces but also through physical objects, spaces, moving images, and audiovisual works. His personal interests in areas such as nature, technology, mechanical systems, music, the underwater world, and visual culture also support this interdisciplinary approach. Ergün continues his work by establishing connections between different disciplines and experimenting with new methods and technologies of production.
