Lamination applied to photo paper is a protective coating created by adding a thin film layer over the print surface. This process makes photographs much more resistant to dust, moisture, fingerprints, scratches, and UV rays. Additionally, lamination enhances the aesthetic appeal by adding either a glossy or matte finish. It helps preserve color vibrancy over time, preventing fading that can occur with age. Moreover, laminated photo surfaces are easy to clean, which is a significant advantage, especially for prints that are frequently handled or displayed.

The white border applied to photographs is a deliberate blank margin surrounding the image, offering both aesthetic and practical benefits. Visually, it acts as a natural frame, drawing attention to the photograph and enhancing its presentation, especially in fine art prints. Functionally, it provides space for signatures without interfering with the image itself, protects the edges during trimming or handling, and makes framing easier by creating a clean separation between the photo and the mat or frame. Additionally, it helps adapt non-standard image ratios to standard paper sizes without cropping essential parts of the photograph.
